If abnormal color persists for 48 hours or your cat is exhibiting any signs of distress, consult withyour cat’s veterinarian.

The litter can sometimes change color even when nothing is wrong. A change in diet, environment, or short-term stress can cause changes in your cat’s urine so we recommend taking your cat to your local veterinarian if the color change persists for 24-48 hours.
You need enough PrettyLitter to achieve two inches of depth in all of your litter boxes, so the size of the litter box will affect the amount needed.

With the correct amount of PrettyLitter, one fill should last an entire month for one medium-sized cat.
PrettyLitter was developed by a team of veterinarians and scientists specifically for cats. The litter is made of Silica Gel, which you may be familiar with from other products like food wrappings, toothpaste, and cosmetics. Our non-clumping litter work great with automatic litter boxes and the Litter Robot. We do not recommend our clumping litter for automatic litter boxes.

PrettyLitter changes color to tell you when your cat has a potential health issue, so you can get them help before it becomes an urgent medical situation. Our silica litter (crystal cat litter) could save you big money on expensive vet bills, not to mention it could save your cat's life.

Our Veterinarian in Chief says: PrettyLitter will help you monitor your cat's health in detecting abnormalities in your cat's urine by testing acidity and alkalinity levels and the visible presence of blood. PrettyLitter cannot detect every feline health issue or prevent or diagnose diseases. A diagnosis can only come from a licensed veterinarian.

Dark yellow / olive green indicates urine within a typical, healthy range.

Acidity outside the average range, which may be a sign of metabolic acidosis or kidney tubular acidosis. Calcium oxalate crystals can be more likely to form in acidic urine.

Alkalinity outside of the average range may be present if your cat has certain types of urinary tract infections (UTI). Highly alkaline urine can increase the risk of struvite crystal/stone formation.

Visible presence of blood, which may indicate Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disorder (FLUTD), bladder stones/crystals, kidney stones, bladder inflammation, certain types of kidney disease and clotting disorders.
